Hello all, I didn't want to make two threads for this as one of these ideas was a joke I made in discord that actually had a lot of positive reception so I said I'd include it with what I actually wanted to suggest.
Shotguns
Let me be frank, shotguns suck. I used to own a server so I know they're almost impossible to balance with them being either completely OP or just awful in general. My suggestion is more of a quality of life change I'd like to see. Reloading a shotgun is basically just signing your own death certificate, especially if you have a habit of reloading after each kill or when combat ceases. It would be nice since our shotgun is a pump action if we weren't locked into the reload animation. I've played on servers where you could stop the shotguns mid reload and start firing. The way our shotgun works is if you have a maximum capacity of 10 shells and you currently have 3 shells and you go to reload, you can do nothing until the shotgun is back to 10 shells.
What I would like to get changed is as thus: for example if your maximum capacity is 10 shells and you currently have 2 shells and you start reloading but get attacked after you already loaded 3 shells into the chamber you would start firing immediately with a capacity of 5 shells which is inline with how a shotgun works in reality.
Seconded suggestion (forgive me it's a bit trolly and I'm hesitant to post this but I was encouraged to do so)
Orbital rounds
They just take forever and most people do not find them fun. My suggestion to help speed them up and give people something more to do when running around is add items to it. I think people would find it more interesting if everyone had a bear trap that did 0 damage for example. This would add a tactical aspect to it more-so than it has already with people trying to kill others by dropping orbitals on them. I feel this could work to speed up the rounds and encourage more interaction with the players rather than most people just going afk as they currently do. If a bear trap that does 0 damage is not a possibility I feel that something that ices or slows other players could also work to have a similar effect.

Unlimited uses?
Panic Crouch as soon as i get shot at for basically instant godmode HUEHUEUHUE you can't shoot me ?
I suggest you give the shield a health limit and make it so once its broke you can't use it for about 20 seconds
It can regen health if its not shot at for a few seconds

I have created a map for CS:GO that I'm really proud of and want to share it! I started a similar map back last year, but I never really enjoyed making it, as well as I was mapping IOD. After I started creating a new one sometime December then post-poned it until I started to work on it again around the beginning of May.

This is Duck Hunt Legacy. Duck Hunt (if you played any of the Halo custom games) is where the "Ducks" must complete the course without being shot by the "Hunter". The reason "Legacy" is attached to it is that it's pretty much a compilation of my old Duck Hunt maps put into 1, with extra content and an extra bonus course to play, I've been making these since I've started mapping.
The biggest reason why I want to show the map is it's one of the heaviest map-logic maps I have built. It's really hard to capture everything without a thousand pictures so I took a few of that I thought had the most to show

This is mostly for the sounds of the map. End round, minigames, and other sounds for stage completions.

This is the "settings room" I've created for the map. It doesn't show much but how it works was complicating for me to get working. it's 100% better to use scripts than making this system through Hammer. One of my other maps had the settings room as well, but you couldn't switch your options back and forth, once you click a setting you can't undo it. I had to find a way to make a system so you can select an option and CAN undo it later.

I tried to get all of the outputs for the map but Hammer started to freeze everytime I selected more brushes/entities.
Outputs and inputs pretty much what operates maps like these. CS:GO has the addition of Scripts which combined makes an excellent tool for running the map, sadly I don't understand them too much.

This is a surface map of the whole map, the extra rooms are "minigames" which have there own logic to make them properly work.
Throughout the years I've modified and tweak the gamemode many times to make it what it is now. The custom gamemode is now filled with many features over the years like different weapons and equipment, experimenting layouts and obstacles, applying music into it, end round minigames, an announcer, Collectible coins, and much more.
This was really fun to make, recreating my old maps into this texture palette.

Daybreak is a very good gun with some solid play in my opinion, however every time I use it that's all it feels to me. Just a nice gun.
Daybreak really falls off on it's special suffix:
Has a 1 in X chance to create a star above the target for X seconds. Once the star is destroyed, the target is slowed, and ignited relative to the time it was alive
I do like the idea of this suffix, but It just doesn't work at all on a gun like this. Especially with how the only way it could actually ever work to it's fullest or close to is when you die as you failed to kill your target. If you do kill your target, congratulations your suffix did nothing and that happens too many times to count. I don't exactly like when my gun works better when I die is kinda my point.
Some ideas off the top of my head would be:
X chance to shoot the sun which makes the player revolve around it as well as giving the "Has a 1 in X chance to create a star above the target for X seconds. Once the star is destroyed, the target is slowed, and ignited relative to the time it was alive" (Pretty much the same thing, but a gives the suffix actually something so that the it's a threat immediately)
As for an Alt fire hold R to charge up a fire ball (except more static and no bouncing) like from survive perhaps giving a small phoenix on hit and a small explosion on contact
Comment any other suggestions you feel. I just think Daybreak is pretty boring and could stand to be more unique
