i would never spend a single coin to assist anyone
maybe it can be a fake currency of some kind you obtain from winning yourself

Technically even obc is competition lol, your 'competing' against other players to stay alive, if it has more then one person ever event or minigame will pretty much be a competition, but I rather like the idea of a hunger games sort of event/minigame.
