So is this suppose to be gaming, or casual or high efficiency?

Give us an idea on what she would use it for.

You're also missing an Operating system, is she just going to use linux or something?

Probably just Ubuntu ##.## or something. Or I'll pirate windows 7 for her. Its for casual gaming.

If you're going for cheap stuff, the ryzen 3 1200 and the gtx 1050 ti will probably work just fine

I'm not super scrimping. I'm just not interested in 1080 levels of graphic card. 1060 should work well for light-medium casual gaming. But thanks.

that i3 is a beast, he wanted to be near $1000 cad and was at $1300 so i talked him into an i3-8350k because it is cheaper and a beast even for an i3, second best cpu of last year in the intel lineup
