This happened because of the change. ELO ranks were changed around, so you could be DMG with the ELO score of a MGE. Therefor when you lose a rank, you still do not have the required ELO for DMG, so you automatically derank. This happened to everyone, including me, and I am now a higher rank than I was before the rank shift.
