Why is that a bad thing? The whole point of the rep system is to reward people and give them incentive to suggest things. Seems like it's doing its job if he only suggested it for rep.

As for the item I think it's an okay idea. Detectives need more tools to play with. I don't see this being bought very often but hey, never know.
