Hey guys,
I just got back into FRG after a 3 year break and I wanna get a better idea of what traits/suffixes I should be looking for, applying on which gun, and any other useful information you guys have on crafting because I feel like a noob again.

Also, is it worth keeping rare or lower catalysts so you can potentially make a better legendary catalyst to use for a prim craft?

The biggest thing I have noticed is the addition of a bunch of these new jewels that I didnt remember being in the server before.

I use mutable smg and eternal solitude so I also like to think about using jewels on those guns and also crafting good socket guns.

FRG DEADLOCK STREET BRAWL TOURNEY

WHAT IS DEADLOCK? WHAT IS STREET BRAWL? (You can skip this section if you know already)

Deadlock is an upcoming third-person hero-shooter-MOBA-hybrid game developed and published by Valve.
It is currently in Open Alpha. ( meaning you need to be invited by anyone who currently has access. If you would like to enter but do not have access, please enter anyway and let me or Originalmind know and we can get you an invite ourselves. )

The main mode of deadlock is a MOBA-style 3-lanes setup where you have to progressively siege the enemy teams' base until you defeat their ultimate defense, the Patron.

Street Brawl is a recently-released alternative mode where you play a Best-of-Five match of miniature skirmishes, and whoever defeats the opposing teams' structure first wins the round.
Unlike normal Deadlock, which uses traditional MOBA last-hitting mechanics to gain money to buy items from a shop, you get offered items as choices-of-three at the start of every round.
These matches are basically entirely fighting and micro / gameplay skill, and are much shorter than normal mode matches.
This is the gamemode we're hosting a tourney for.

HOW CAN I SIGN UP FOR THIS TOURNEY?

You can sign up as a team of four people : your designated "team captain" should post your team name and members (optionally with a drawn team emblem). The members should reply to your message in this thread confirming they're a part of the team.

If you sign up as a team of four, feel free to include any friends of yours who do not play FRG. They do not need to reply to this thread, just specify like : Loach [non frg] when you list your team members.

you NEED to post a reply in this thread to participate, and you must specify which of the above you are doing.

WHAT ARE THE GAME FORMAT RULES?

Both teams will, in the pregame lobby, randomly roll a hero to play. (We will probably use a spinner wheel for this externally, the "random" function ingame is not very functional.)
This is their hero they must play for the match, but each team gets exactly one trade where two people can swap heroes.

The matches will all be Best-Of-1-Game with the exception of the last 2 teams' finals match which will be Best-of-3 games.

WHEN?

This will take place on the first Saturday of February, 02/07/2026, in the evening.

New this year :

There will be a BRAND-NEW GIFT BRACKET SYSTEM.

=There is the Standard bracket, which is anything-goes within-reason. It does not mean you will get a bad gift by any means, it just means you don't have to give a ton out too. Post normally within this thread to enter this pool.

=There is also now going to be a HIGHROLLER gift bracket. However, there are a few stipulations :

1. All gifts submitted to this bracket will be reviewed by a secret, impartial group of staff, who will determine if it fits the spirit of this bracket.

2. These gifts, as a guideline, should be at a MINIMUM near-value of 100M coins.
Putting in effort or fulfilling your recipient's wishlist can make your gifts more 'valuable' - remember that your gift just has to pass reasonable approval by the Santa Council.

3. If your gift is rejected by the council twice, you will be banished to the GRINCH POOL OF GIFTERS FOR TRYING TO SKIRT THE GUIDELINE!!!! The best thing to do is OVERSHOOT

4. These staff will also heavily weight if the items are relative 'thoughtless filler' or not - if you are just submitting gold bars to meet the minimum and your recipient didn't ask for them, it is likely to be rejected!

5. If you want to join the Highroller pool, please include the phrase '67 67 67' at the end of your message to indicate that you read all of this.

6. DON'T BE A GRINCH!

Rework Extinct system

What I'm proposing is to make the Dyson sphere more in line with other forges, since it was in fact the first kind of forge, and maybe allow godlike & celestial's to be forged with it.

I believe maybe it might be fine now to allow any godlike/celestial to be put in there for an alignment, and Extincts instead will just be a crafting recipe that you craft using our crafting system.

I feel like this will make it a bit less confusing overall by making the extinct items more in line with typical upgrade crafts that we've had, all in the same UI using the same system so its not as confusing, while also adding potentially exciting new use cases to godlikes that don't have extinct versions yet.

This does not mean I want to stop making extinct versions, I will still make the upgrades from time to time as they're fun, this separation of systems has been bothering me for a bit though.

Dear Brassx,

We are nearly 2 months away from 10 years of FRG. 10 years. Can you believe it? Has it really felt that long? It really hasn't to me. I joined FRG in 2016, when NTG was on it's last final gasps. I wasn't there at the start, but I think I'm glad I wasn't, who knows what else would have changed in my life if I tried it sooner? Since then FRG, I believe, has been the most stable thing in my life. I've gone through houses, schools, jobs, romantic partners, I've had good times and bad, both in life and within this community, but I don't think I'd trade those experiences for much, if anything. I really don't regret any of the time I've spent here, and probably won't to any future time spent here. It's less of a game to me, at this point and I think what FRG offers more than anything is a community to me. Meeting and watching people grow that you interact with on a regular basis that share the same passions as you do, and always having the ability to come back and be welcomed by people you know. That's the greatest thing this server has to offer and I hope it always will.

And it's all thanks to you Brass, I think it's undoubted by anyone here that you've put tens of thousands of hours into making this server into what it is without losing your morality, your long-term passion, your persistence, and more than anything your ability to keep the game full of heart, for things to matter without feeling... Too easy and not worthwhile. Triple A games nowadays have a hard time struggling with that and you pull it off with class. It's a great achievement that you've stuck to this for ten years. Beyond, if we count NTG. We've seen MANY developers and server owners struggle to even do a portion of what you've accomplished, and you do it all for a modest living. You don't reach out with greed, or push the boundaries. You make what you need to live, and you just keep on trucking. I don't think many people could accomplish all of that. You really should be proud. I don't think FRG will be the only thing you do, but I believe when it's finally time to let go, whether it be 3, 5, 10, 100 years from now. We'll be satisfied. Thank you for that.

And to the community, of which we have seen many good people, thank you for being who you are. Without a community there is no server, without a server I have no idea where I'd be right now. It could be better, it'd probably be worse. I'm just happy to have had the chance to interact with so many diverse characters, and I hope to meet many more. I believe overall, FRG has been a positive in my life in every aspect. Some of you have given me aspects to who I am and, well, I like who I am most of the time. Some of you have made me laugh, and made me happy. Some of you have made sure that I don't feel alone when I've needed it most. Thanks guys I appreciate it.

The Great FRG Spreadsheet

Lord, this is gonna be a really shitty idea.

Today, about...an hour ago from this post, I had the absolute worst idea i've probably had in this server.
I want to create a spreadsheet, listing all the prefixes (gun prefixes, such as lightweight, heartless, divine, gory, etc etc etc), the stat spreads, animations/colors they may have, and other information that may be important.

Now, I'm not that new, but I compared to everyone else, I would 100% be considered newblood, and I do not know anything about everything, and I think i'd lose it if I had to figure out which crates drop what for god knows how long.

So I come to you all in a time of need, and request that you help me by giving me ANY INFORMATION that could help with this endevor, either by sending it here, commenting on the spreadsheet, DMing me on discord (veterath is my user), pinging me with it, I do not care.

Hell, if enough help, maybe I'll give out some rewards for the people who helped the most...? Just an idea...

The spreadsheet is here, currently in its early stages, but no matter. I would be very grateful if you helped, so...help, please.
