This is unbelievably annoying, please give us a way to disable this. I'm sick of doing a 180 and seeing a giant error seeker and a floating ghost blocking my vision. Terrible design choice.

+1 sometimes gets in the way of aiming also spooky sometimes

There is a way to disable pets on your screen.
It is under the Coinshop Settings tab, second option.

Pets are visible because people asked for it. But you know, you could look around in settings before ragging on design choices.
Should also note, you even posted on these patchnotes Terran.
