This was on our 2nd try, he went on to charge 4 more rounds til we finally stopped. We had given up wanting to leave on second try.

It's literally impossible to die if you already have all of them in one direction, not much of a challenge lul.

Wrong. They do get smart after a bit and start double backing around the other way, thats how they got him later on off cam

They take the shortest route to whoever they're aggro'd on, so if you manage to position yourself so that zombies at the end of a line have a shorter path, then they will split off from the other group to chase you.
I'll try drawing up a map later, then using it to plot a couple of paths to take.

It wasn't very hard to do, but if you stay too close to a mob like that for a second or two too long, you'll instantly get hit by all of them and die pretty hard.
