Several times I've died due to the crouch jump cooldown not letting me crouch to get over a ledge. The suggestion is that the cooldown shouldn't apply if you are touching an object. So if there's a ledge you are running into/touching, the cooldown wont stop you from jumping over it.

What would be classified as an "object" though? A wall that you need to use crouch jump to get over isn't necessarily an object, and if it's counted as one wouldn't the ground itself technically be an object?

Daniels got a point there. perhaps if there was a way for it to detect just say whatever it was to your front/sides/back and not under your feet? that way, small walls, boxes/built static objects could be counted, while normal ground would not?

I kind of liked someones idea where you get a tiny jump boost when you're on crouch jump cooldown to help you get over objects you need to crouch jump for.
But since this was implemented, I have not seen any crouch jump fights which makes all of the side effects worth it IMO(in the times I have played/watched Grassx play). Crouch jumping during a fight was stupid, and made me cringe. I just remember doing 1v1s on NTG with my TDM rounds, and the crouch jump battles were so gross to watch.
But detecting an object you need to get over isn't quite as easy as it seems, and things start getting weird when you would need to throw slopes/stairs in the mix.

Brassx, ask not chosen what I did to him on port. He got salty cause I bhopped away from a gun fight when I was a T.
