Hey Brass!
Im not here to appeal the ban. I'm actually typing this to give you a thank you to you and the FRG community.
Ive been wanting to get away from FRG as a game for a long time. I found the exploit and similar exploits but never really abused them till about a week ago. (If you want details on how I did them lmk) (Swapping to 64bit seemed to fix one of them)
I want to say thank you for the fun times with FRG and even though I was absolutely addicted to the gameplay loop you managed to set up I want to say thank you for establishing an amazing community.
Lots of fun times, but recently and even long before, I've been trying to find a way out and there would always be a point or some reason that brought me back and personally it got in the way of my life. I'm a very intelligent person (I've been told) but I cripple myself into doing nothing with the stupid shit I get myself addicted to or waste my time with. (Games, media, not drugs or alcohol I don't even drink).
Doing the same thing everyday in a video game was never how I wanted to live my life and it felt like FRG was one of those things inhibiting me.
Edit 2: For the past many years I've been intensely depressed with the state of my life. When I get hooked on something I enjoy I indulge myself till I lose interest. I've always struggled with self control and getting out of my comfort zone and for a long time I was able to stop most of those addictions. FRG was one of those things that I could not control on my own and I would always eventually come back.
Now that I'm finally out, I am one step towards achieving many of my goals. It won't be easy by I'm happy I got one of those steps further.
When I did the exploiting I was hoping and waiting for the ban. I honestly got worried that you wouldn't find it despite all the errors and console messages my game was spouting.
Edit: I came to find the exploit for the reasons stated above and because I was getting frustrated the time sink needed in order to make something fun and ttt viable, only for it to get gutted and now the time sink begins again making me spend more time in the game, that I don't have.
With that I want to say thank you for the fun times all these years and I hope you and the rest of the FRG family continue to enjoy your lives!

There's a lot more I want to say and add, but I do want to add that I've been lonely my entire life, and I have severe trust issues with making close friends. But with the FRG community, even though I know a lot of you hated me, I enjoyed the friendly banter and interactions so I thank you for putting a drop in the void for me!
But recently I've been able to get a bit more confidence in myself and honestly being banned is more of a relief and confidence booster for me.

See ya man. Glad we never had bad blood, but wish you would've gone out on better terms. I do however understand the addiction loop that games like this can instill and breaking that loop can be nearly impossible at times without a force of hand.

Since you were a long-time player and member, you should have reported these dupes and exploits when you found them. Stating that you found these exploits and your first choice was to conceal them is concerning. Also, why would you want to stay in the Discord and be in the community if it was inhibiting your irl goals and causing you to be addicited, the entire "reason" you did this, and also stating that you wanted to escape FRG by exploiting and hoping to get caught is a crazy decision when you could of asked for a ban or just left the community or uninstall GMOD. Now im no saint, I've done some sketchy things on here, but I have always reported similar exploits or bugs like these as a player like yourself should, given the amount of hours and playtime you put in this game, a bug like this defeats the purpose of playing on a server like this, just doesn't make sense to me. At the end of the day, from your statement, it sounds like this was planned, and using it as an excuse because you wanted to leave FRG doesn't make sense to me, anyway, that's what I think about this situation.

I do a lot of things that don't make sense to the people around me. What I can say is that my intention was to get out of gmod. I've uninstalled and removed my license for gmod, but valve has user friendly systems in place to easily get the license back. If I don't get added to the discord it's no big deal, I just want a way to still be able to contact y'all if I manage to get an opportunity, or talk about fun stuff.
Simply asking for a ban was not enough. If I ask for a ban, the possibility of getting unbanned just by asking exists. This is a Garry's mod server with no real world consequences. The only real world consequence is my time passing by. I'm not asking for you to understand what I did, just that I accomplished what I wanted successfully and that's all that matters to me.
Edit: oh I missed the part about using a bug makes no sense at all. I wouldn't have done it if I didnt want to be banned. I know brass and his big brother can see almost everything. I wanted to be banned so I intentionally exploited and didn't report. And if you knew what I was doing, at least I would expect, on brass' end it should have been obvious especially with the like almost 100 alterings weapon I had. I actually made a suggestion about transforms cuz I had been able to transform a weapon almost 100+ times and still wouldnt get an associated base.
But yeah, my intention was to get banned so I exploited. (In terms of ruining the entire point of the server, I started it fairly recently, but I get what you mean that the grind is meant to be a grind)
I'm a tad bit happier and it's a weird feeling but thats all the reason I need. Y'all are great people and hearing the occasional life story from you guys actually helped me get confidence with talking with other people.
